Our Standard 2-inch by 4-inch flat clips weighing .15 lbs are manufactured using 14-gauge galvanized steel and come with 4 holes. We also offer 2 1/2″x5″ flat clips which come with 6 holes.

Our Standard Metal carport flat clips come in two sizes: 2″x4″ and 2 1/2″x5″. These carport clips help to reinforce joints between any beams and columns. Our metal flat clips are made by taking and shearing larger strips of galvanized steel down to 2″x4″ and 2 1/2″x5″ rectangles, then punching holes through the steel. The 2″x4″ clip comes standard with 4 holes, and our 2 1/2″x5″ flat clips come standard with 6 holes.

Our 2″x4″, and 2 1/2″x5″ profile flat clips and all of our carport hardware are made from 14 gauge galvanized USA steel.
Flat clips are aligned to secure two components together, mainly to reinforce joints between any beams and columns. They are secured with appropriate fasteners, such as bolts and or screws, through the pre-drilled holes in the flat clip. Thus providing additional security to the structure.
We provide our standard flat clips in two sizes as standard. a 2″x4″ profile, and a 2 1/2″x5″ Profile.
However, we can provide custom sizes of flat clips or any hardware to suit your job’s needs.
Generally, flat clips require very little maintenance, but over time, it is recommended to periodically inspect them for any signs of rust if in regularly soaked environments. Loosing of bolts and screws can occur over time as well. So checking these periodically is also recommended.
Yes! Our galvanized steel flat clips can be painted. But, it requires proper preparation and use of the correct paint and primer to ensure that the paint adheres to the zinc coating of the steel.
